The Dane County Alliant Energy Center have five (5) limited term vacancies for an LTE Parking Ticket Seller in Madison, WI.

Limited Term Employees (LTEs) are limited to 1,200 hours in a payroll year and are not guaranteed any hours per week.

DEFINITION

Under general direction, Parking Ticket Sellers collect parking fees.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Collect proper fees from parking lot users while providing quality customer service.

Education, Training and Experience

Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to high school graduation.

Certifications/Licenses

On hire, incumbent must attend training and receive Crowd Control Manager Certification.

Special Requirements

Must be available and willing to work days, nights, weekends and holidays as needed based on event requirements. Conducts their responsibilities in a courteous, ready-to-serve manner. Must be respectfully assertive and tactful with customers when necessary. Must familiarize themselves with facility emergency operation protocols. Also refer to the “Physical and Environmental Work Requirements” section below.

Background Check Statement

Some positions may require a criminal background check which can include fingerprinting due to the nature of the job's responsibilities. Wisconsin's Fair Employment Law, s. 111.31 – 111.395, Wis. Stats., prohibits discrimination because of an arrest or conviction record. However, Dane County may disqualify an applicant if the position's responsibilities are substantially related to the applicant's criminal history (e.g., the nature of the crime and its relationship to the position, whether hiring, transferring or promoting an applicant would pose an unreasonable risk to the business, its employees, customers and vendors, etc.).

Management reserves the right to make employment contingent upon successful completion of the background check.

For Bilingual Positions
  • Provide services in both English and the required foreign language (e.g., Spanish, Arabic, Hmong, etc.).
  • Applicants being considered for bilingual positions will be tested during the recruitment process prior to employment. This will primarily consist of passing an oral language proficiency assessment from English to foreign language and foreign language to English, but may require additional language testing, such as written translation, if it is an essential function of the job.
  • * If applicable, individuals may confirm with the Employee Relations Division whether results of bilingual language certifications/ examinations they currently hold qualify them for the position’s bilingual designation.

    Physical and Environmental Work Requirements

    Ability to work in outdoor weather as needed in the parking lot ticket booths. Ability to work in enclosed ticket booth with either a space heater or fan for climate control. Ability to sit or stand for long periods. Ability to read and speak in a clear and easily understandable manner. Must be comfortable in a busy parking lot environment with a high volume of vehicles entering and leaving the facility at the same time.

    Must be comfortable handling technology to process credit and debit card transactions.

    Ability to provide excellent customer service. Ability to maintain personal organization and accountability to ensure a positive experience for visitors. Ability to learn credit card processing functions and to use ticket selling equipment to process card transactions. Ability to maintain good public relations and deal tactfully with other Ticket Sellers, the public, event sponsors and exhibitors. Ability to work well in a group and be proactive about the needs of guests.

    Ability to learn the layout of the grounds, parking lot patterns, entrances, and exits. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate via radio and cell phone.
