4K Wrap Care Teacher - ELVEHJEM ELEMENTARY

Monday - Friday 1pm-6pm

The East YMCA is looking for a professional, detailed oriented 4K Wrap Care Teacher that will create a fun and interactive environment in their classroom. The YMCA is well known for our dedication to our families and the community we serve while providing high quality, progressive early childhood education. The best qualified candidate will foster achievement, encourage belonging, act as positive role model for children and staff, while developing and implementing age‑appropriate activities.

• Create fun and interactive learning experiences.
• Ensure the daily care of every child by following all licensing guidelines and company standards.
• Communicate directly with parents and prospective parents to achieve success for the child.
• Maintain proper records/department files.
• Train and provide guidance to and direct assistant teachers and volunteers as needed.
• Manage emergencies, unusual circumstances and behavior.
• Creates a supportive and uplifting work environment.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Lead Teacher classification recognized by Wisconsin State Licensing requirements.
• Knowledge of general child growth and development, learning, and developmentally appropriate activities for children required.
• Ability to effectively interact with, lead, and motivate members who have a variety of abilities and needs.
• Experience leading a classroom and creating educational lesson plans.
