Join the team that makes the Wisconsin Union one of the most popular event venues in Madison. Under the general supervision of the Catering Operations Director, this position will execute on- and off-site catered events for Memorial Union, Union South, and other campus locations. In this role, you will lead the coordination and execution of a wide spectrum of events—from intimate breakfast meetings and weddings to large-scale banquets for up to 800 guests.
You will be responsible for supervising and training permanent and part-time staff, mentoring student team members, and setting schedules. Additionally, you will manage inventory and assist with food, wages, and material costs for a budget of approximately $3 million.

KeyJob Responsibilities:
- Provides operational guidance for food service activities, identifies, develops, facilitates staff training opportunities, and/or supervises dining staff.
- Plans and directs staff implementation of operating policies and procedures to ensure adherence to safe food quality, handling, and sanitation processes and procedures.
- Monitors the unit budget and approves expenditures.
- Tracks and forecasts inventory levels and places replenishment orders.
- Directs and provides exceptional customer service, answers questions, and provides information regarding food preparation and associated activities.
- Develops staff resources, menus, and communication plans based on established goals.

Compensation:The expected starting salary is $67,500 / annually depending on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:- 2-years of supervisory experience in Hospitality Industry.
- Experience with time management utilizing software - examples include using software to scheduling meetings, check‑ins, and managing inventory.
- Experience creating staff schedules.
Associate’s degree – Preferred
