Job Overview

The Alliant Energy Center in Madison, WI has a vacancy for an LTE Sales Coordinator.

Limited Term Employees (LTEs) are limited to 1,200 hours in a payroll year and are not guaranteed any hours per week.

Note to applicants – for the 2026 budget year, there is a 1% reduction in wages. This is already reflected in the hourly wage above.

DEFINITION

Under direction of the Deputy Director AEC – Events & Guest Services, this classification is responsible delivering an exceptional experience to clients by securing and booking facility usage for events such as: meetings, seminars, trade or consumer shows, concerts, exhibits, fairs, livestock/cattle shows, horse fairs, and other related activities associated with a multi-purpose event venue. This work involves extensive public contact and sales activities.

EXAMPLES

OF DUTIES

Performs activities relating to sales booking facility usage for such purposes as meetings, seminars, concerts, trade and consumer shows, exhibits, entertainment events, festivals, livestock or cattle shows, banquets, and other related activities associated with a multi-purpose event venue. Coordinates cooperative sales efforts and materials in association with the exclusive onsite food service vendor, and Destination Madison, as well as other business and community partners.

Performs and prepares proactive sales activities which includes research, sales presentations, facility tours calls and correspondence. Maintains contact with clients during their events to ensure their needs are met. Explains policies, procedures, services, fees, and answer questions relative to facility usage and booking. Meets with client representatives to finalize agreements. Develops and maintains CRM data, including a network of client contacts.

Prepares materials and reports on events and usage to be used to evaluate the achievement of marketing and facility usage goals. Works in cooperation with Event & Guest Services Division staff to prepare price quotations, prepare agreements and negotiate terms of agreements with clients and to ensure overall client satisfaction. Reserves and confirms space usage.

Education, Training and Experience

Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, in Business Administration, Marketing, Journalism (Public Relations) or related field.

Special Requirements

Must have a valid driver’s license, or access to reliable personal transportation, or equivalent. Incumbents are expected to attend meetings and assist with events outside the normal work schedule. Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary. In addition, incumbents may be required to attend occasional community meetings and events and travel for sales related meetings, trainings and activities.
