Automotive Aftermarket Instructor – Milwaukee, WI (Green Bay region)
Job Overview V2X Inc is hiring an Automotive Aftermarket Instructor to deliver technical training for automotive technicians. The role requires both practical experience and the ability to communicate complex diagnostics in a classroom and online setting.
Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities- Deliver technical training virtually and in‑person through seminars, small‑group coaching, and hands‑on sessions ranging from 1–8 hours.
- Use Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Zoom/Teams to prepare and present training materials.
- Demonstrate vehicle diagnosis/repair procedures and evaluate technician diagnostic skills.
- Provide daytime, evening, and occasional weekend training sessions; weekend sessions may occur 1–2 times per year.
- Support design and development of training content for video, web‑based, seminar, hands‑on, and certification media.
- Offer technical diagnostic assistance to technicians via phone as needed.
- Support training locations in La Mirada and Glendale, CA, and remote locations across California and Arizona; requires 25%–50% overnight travel.
- Minimum five years automotive technician experience.
- Proficiency with automotive service information and diagnostic support software.
- Skill in utilizing advanced diagnostic equipment: scan tools, lab scopes, DVOMs, HVAC equipment, vibration diagnostic tools.
- Adaptability to rapidly changing situations and work environments.
- Excellent interpersonal skills working with customers and coworkers.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), internet, and email.
- Excellent time‑management and organizational skills.
- ASE Certified Master A1–A‑8 Automobile Technician (to be obtained within first year).
- ASE A9, L1, L3, L4, and Section 609 certifications (to be obtained within first year).
- Automotive instructor or public‑speaking experience.
- Experience with aftermarket parts and supplier processes/standards.
- Ability to research technical topics/processes for curriculum development.
- Minimum Associate Degree in Automotive Technology or related field.
- Four years automotive technician work experience with a high‑school diploma considered in lieu of a degree.
$70,000 – $100,000 annually, depending on experience and certifications.
Work Environment andPhysical Requirements
Work is performed in an automotive shop setting. Exposure to fumes, fluids, noise, smells, and sharp objects requires continuous use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, and head protection. Tasks include standing, sitting, walking, occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) of materials up to 35 lb, and frequent use of computers and office equipment.
Travel:
Frequent travel to a U.S. person eligible for Export Authorization. Company car provided. Immediate benefits without enrollment wait period.
