The Relationship Manager (RM) is a client‑facing role responsible for maintaining, deepening, and enriching client relationships within a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) firm. Acting as the primary point of contact for all service‑related needs, the RM ensures an exceptional, high‑touch service experience for every client. This role supports advisors, collaborates with internal team members, and contributes to firmwide operational excellence. When needed, the RM will also support all aspects of investments and portfolio activities which include preparing client presentations, client reports and performance reports.
The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple responsibilities with precision. They will have the opportunity for accelerated career growth, including support toward obtaining a professional designation (Firm‑approved) and progressing into a Senior Relationship Manager position.
Key Responsibilities- Provide timely, exceptional client service with flawless execution on all requests and inquiries.
- Process client transactions including money movement, security transfers, and account maintenance updates.
- Assist clients with online access setup, troubleshooting, and general platform support.
- Manage the full new account onboarding process, including preparing documents, gathering required paperwork, and submitting applications through the custodian platform.
- Ensure new accounts and service requests are completed accurately, efficiently, and with proactive follow‑up.
- Maintain and update client records, files, and data within CRM and custodian systems.
- Execute compliance‑related responsibilities including maintaining documentation, monitoring regulatory requirements, and assisting with regulatory correspondence.
- Make proactive outbound client contacts to strengthen relationships and support ongoing engagement.
- Prepare materials and documentation for client meetings and follow up on action items afterward.
- Provide operational support across the firm, which may include marketing tasks, performance reporting, and general office administration.
- Collaborate with advisors and team members to ensure an exceptional and consistent client experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent relevant experience.
- 3-5 years minimum professional experience.
- 1-3 years prior experience in financial services, wealth management, or a client‑service‑heavy role required.
- Series 65 required.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- High degree of accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with custodian platforms and CRM systems is a plus.
This role offers a clear and expedited growth track within the firm. The RM will receive training, mentorship, and financial support to being pursuing a C level professional designation, with the goal of developing into a Senior Relationship Manager who manages sophisticated client relationships more independently.
