Job Purpose And SummaryAs a Pharmacy Manager, you will lead and develop a pharmacy team that provides exceptional patient care by promoting best practices and leading through change while identifying and addressing performance opportunities. You will support program awareness, onboard new hires, and recognize colleagues for their success. You consistently exhibit best practices when working the bench, including quarterbacking the team, providing patients with meaningful counseling, and adhering to all legal and regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities- Help manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
- Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, strengthening performance through coaching and follow‑up.
- Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by enforcing pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, collaborating with the health team, and proactively resolving insurance and medication issues.
- Offer and deliver immunizations to keep patients healthy; engage Pharmacy Technicians in immunization training.
- Manage pharmacy inventory with a focus on protecting cold chain products.
- Conduct onboarding for new Technicians and Pharmacists, ensuring timely completion of required training and licensure.
- Maintain full compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations and coordinate with the Rx DL as needed.
- Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a talent pipeline of cross‑trained colleagues for pharmacy roles.
- Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists, delivering performance reviews and closing gaps.
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, writing or delegating pharmacy schedules as appropriate.
- Review business reporting for operational insights and develop action plans to close gaps.
- Establish a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion, fostering psychological safety.
- Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, pursuing opportunities for knowledge expansion.
- Support access to care and improve outcomes through pharmacist delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services.
- Comply with all federal and state regulations, professional standards, and CVS Health policies.
- Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located.
- Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.
- 1–2 years of experience as a Pharmacist.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe.
- Customer Service and Team Orientation: actively help people in a friendly manner; respond appropriately to patient reactions.

- Problem Resolution: identify challenging interactions and choose the best course of action.
- Physical Demands: mobile, upright for extended periods, lift and manipulate items up to 20 lb, type, and perform detailed visual inspections.
- Team Management and Leadership: lead by example, delegate tasks, motivate team, apply problem‑solving skills, and coach or discipline team members as needed.
- Additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager.
- Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM‑EL) program.
- 3–5 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations to meet business need.
Typical Pay Range for This Role: $65.00 – $81.00 per hour. The actual base salary offer will depend on experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors.
