Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and adjust press brake machinery to bend, form, or straighten metal materials according to specifications.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, work orders, and production instructions.
  • Select proper tooling, dies, punches, and back gauges based on job requirements.
  • Measure and inspect finished parts using calipers, tape measures, protractors, and other precision tools to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Perform machine adjustments to maintain correct part dimensions and ensure consistent production output.
  • Monitor machine operation and identify issues related to material, tooling, or equipment performance.
  • Safely load and unload materials, following proper handling procedures.
  • Maintain equipment by performing routine cleaning, minor maintenance, and reporting needed repairs.
  • Keep work area cleaned and organized, following Nucor safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Support other fabrication or production departments as needed based on workflow.
  • Adhere to all safety policies, ensuring safe operation of machinery and equipment at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
Safety

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience operating a press brake or similar metal fabrication equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production drawings.
  • Advanced understanding of measurements, fractions, and basic math.
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to use precision measurement instruments such as calipers, tape measures, and protractors.
  • Ability to stand, bend, reach, and lift for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, or continuous improvement practices.
  • Ability to read and use precise measurement tools to tight tolerances.

Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
