School Nurse

Summary of the position:
To provide the fullest possible educational opportunity for each corporation student by minimizing absence due to illness and creating a climate of health and well-being in the school.

Qualifications:

A current license of Nursing in the State of Indiana. Must hold a Bachelor's degree in nursing and have an RN degree.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

* Assess, identify, and monitor the physical, emotional, and social needs of students and school personnel.

* Assist students and school personnel who become ill or are injured at school.

* Provide health counseling and follow-up to students, their families, and school personnel.

* Assist teachers in adapting the school program to meet the individual needs of all students.

* Schedule and conduct vision and scoliosis screening tests and assist with hearing screening.

* Implement operational procedures for dispensing prescription and non-prescription medications in the school in accordance with Corporation's medication
