Overview
Vaco is assisting a client in the automotive manufacturing industry to identify an E-coat specialist to join their growing team. The role includes support activities and training in Ecoat, including wet lab testing, technical recommendations, and troubleshooting quality issues.
Responsibilities- Chemical knowledge and management
- Chemical makeup, purpose, and use
- Familiarity with chemical reactions and negative effects
- Knowledge of hazardous/non-hazardous chemicals and proper disposal techniques
- Tracking chemical usage and proper reporting requirements to local and state government
- Product compliance and control
- Certification of probes
- Daily testing, titrations, control chart tracking and corrections
- Chemical inventory management
- Bath PM scheduling and management
- Periodic panel and phosphate testing and submittals
- Review film thickness data and process modifications to remain in control
- Monthly benchtop meter and film meter probe calibration verifications
- Review temperature records monthly to maintain air compliance
- Maintain wastewater metals/cyanide/PH parameters to comply with city permit
- Ensure safety of self and others by following all safety policies/procedures and wearing all required PPE
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods
- Build relationships with and attend training with equipment suppliers to maximize equipment capability
- Confer with management and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, etc. to facilitate production processes
- Demonstrate a hands-on ability to solve problems; support continuous improvement
- Identify potential quality problems from drawings and/or work with design for problems that develop in production
- Train team members on department functions
- Write and maintain process control manuals
- Direct production and quality activities to meet safety, quality standards, and delivery dates
- Rotating shifts is required
- Regular attendance is required
- 3-5 years’ experience in automotive industry with specific Ecoat experience
- Prefer a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry, or related field of study
