Job Description SummaryThe Chemical Controls Technician will be responsible for safe day‑to‑day chemical operations in a PSM‑compliant chemical unit.
Qualifications / Requirements- High School Diploma / GED
- Minimum of 5 years of controls operator experience in a chemical, refinery, or power plant environment
- Ability and willingness to work off/varied shift, weekends, days, nights, holidays as required
- Operate process units to produce chemical intermediates for aviation ceramic matrix composite raw materials
- Operate a distributed and automated control system with the ability to make accurate and timely decisions on your own and as a team
- Monitor various chemical process measurements and respond to deviations
- Conduct routine maintenance and operation of process systems and equipment across assigned process zone and occasionally in cross‑functional areas
- Serve as a resource to other technicians in troubleshooting and identifying equipment issues
- Conduct work practices with safety and quality in mind in a 24/7 production environment
- Conduct safe work permitting / JSA, lock out / tag out, and any other permits
- Complete required business and regulatory process documentation
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Ensure facility equipment and inventory / consumable levels are accurate
- Participate and actively engage in quality and continuous improvement projects
- Communicate effectively with peers, management, and external stakeholders
- Utilize business software such as MES and quality / EHS software
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability and willingness to train new and current employees across all roles
- Mechanical / electrical aptitude
- Ability to analyze problems, identify issues and provide efficient solutions
- Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to handle diverse activities simultaneously
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work in a tobacco‑free environment
- Ability to communicate effectively and adhere to team norms
- Ability to mentor / train others effectively
This role requires access to U.S. export‑controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. citizen, or have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
