This is a full-time, on-site role for an Outpatient Coder, located in Madison, AL. The Outpatient Coder will be responsible for accurately assigning diagnostic and procedure codes to patient medical records, reviewing clinical documentation, and ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulations. The role will include working collaboratively with healthcare providers, department staff, and management to maintain the accuracy and efficiency of coding practices for outpatient services.
Qualifications- Proven experience in Coding, including Medical Coding for outpatient services
- Familiarity with Medical Terminology and Health Information Management systems
- Certification or credentialing such as RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) is preferred
- Strong understanding of healthcare guidelines, compliance standards, and coding protocols
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or a related field is a plus
