Mopec is currently searching for a Buyer. This is an “onsite” position and will be based at our facility in Madison Heights, MI.
Job SummaryThe Buyer will work as part of the supply chain team. In this position, you will be responsible for purchasing products, executing purchase orders, ensuring appropriate stock levels and negotiation. This is an on-site position and physical presence in the office is required.
What you’ll do- Execute Purchase Orders to MRP driven plan
- Purchase goods and services through standard processes to ensure an adequate supply of material to support the company's objectives. This includes direct and indirect Purchase Orders.
- Update all Purchase Orders with Supplier Confirmation information (delivery dates, quantities, etc.)
- Process Purchase Requisition s. Review each item for quantity, price, product specification, and delivery requirements.
- Respond to internal RFI’s in a timely manner
- Update Master Files with Supplier driven data (minimum order quantities, multiple order quantities, etc.)
- Coordinate the integration of all material deliveries into the supply chain to ensure on time deliveries
- Review and react to Materials Requirement Plan (MRP) messages to ensure a steady flow of material to support committed sales orders, safety stock, and forecasts requirements.
- Expedite and/or research missing, late, or incorrect orders.
- Communicate Short Term and Long Term Forecasts to Suppliers
- Create and monitor sample submission Purchase Orders
- Maintain dynamic and static purchasing data related to business unit(s)
- Make recommendations for productivity and/or method improvements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or equivalent discipline
- 5 years’ experience in Procurement and/or Supply Chain
- Infor Visual 11 experience a plus
- Ability to work in a fast paced team environment with tight deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to be proactive and incorporate efficiencies into daily tasks.
