Sika is looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our team.
Japanese language is required.

• Assume project leadership and overall responsibility for Automotive Technologies in damping, sealing, and reinforcing.
• Drive activities to meet timing needs, including managing DFMEA and DVP&R activity through launch, securing application design approval, managing tooling budgets, and working with customer engineering and factory support to achieve results.

• Support Sika materials application strategy to meet customer requirements.
• Manage project timelines from award through 90 days post-launch.
• Ensure design reviews are complete and drawings are released in accordance with department procedures.
• Establish DVP&R's and DFMEA's and ensure design verification of parts including customer on-site validation.
• Manage engineering changes from quote approval by the customer to implementation at the manufacturing plant.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by the Supervisor.

• Must have PC proficiency including MS Office and project management software.
• Excellent analytical & quantitative skills as well as strong communication.
• Capable of creating strong internal & external relationships with customers, vendors, and contacts across business groups.
• Familiarity with plastic injection molding and tooling as well as part design is highly recommended.
• Experience working with Japanese OEMs & fluent in Japanese.

• Requires minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering.
• 1-3 years of application engineering or program management experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
• Japanese speaking and experience with the culture.
