Job Description:We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team in Madison Heights, MI. As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for manufacturing processes. Your expertise will be crucial in optimizing production efficiency, ensuring product quality, and maintaining operational safety.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and implement control systems, including PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems, for manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Program and troubleshoot PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems, ensuring they meet operational requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate control systems with mechanical, electrical, and software components.
- Conduct system tests and validations to ensure reliability, functionality, and compliance with industry standards.
- Provide technical support and training to production and maintenance teams on control system operation and troubleshooting.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes and reduce downtime.
- Maintain documentation, including system specifications, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Masters degree preferred.
- Proven experience as a Controls Engineer or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar), HMI development, and SCADA systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, automation technologies, and industrial controls.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience with robotics and motion control systems is a plus.
