Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Madison Heights, Michigan. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and supporting month-end close processes across multiple locations. This position requires an individual who is detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of working independently.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee month-end close processes for multiple locations, ensuring timely and accurate completion.

- Prepare and record journal entries, including accruals and liabilities.

- Manage cash applications and reconcile accounts to maintain financial accuracy.

- Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions efficiently.

- Assist in inventory management and related financial reporting.

- Perform account reconciliations and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy.

- Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel functions, such as pivot tables and vlookups, to analyze and organize data.

- Generate financial reports and provide insights to support decision-making.

- Work independently while maintaining a consistent level of quality in all tasks. Requirements - A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior role.

- Proficiency in month-end close processes, including journal entries and general ledger management.

- Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) practices.

- Experience in performing account and bank reconciliations.

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and vlookups.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.

- Familiarity with accruals, liabilities, and inventory-related accounting.

- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
