Oldcastle Infrastructure – Maintenance Technician
Job Summary:
Perform a wide range of duties in an industrial manufacturing environment. Safely and efficiently maintain all equipment by completing preventive maintenance, reading operation manuals, and troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Implement and maintain plant effectiveness, emphasizing machine maintenance and performance upkeep from CMMS.
- Respond to all unplanned downtime or breakdowns on machines.
- Maintain and troubleshoot problems with drive systems and PLCs.
- Plan and execute maintenance activities for non-routine problems or issues.
- Troubleshoot equipment and system problems for manufacturing and facility equipment, both routine and complex, using a method of troubleshooting to reach a root cause.
- Design, fabricate and install mechanical and electronic equipment and perform program changes.
- Weld carbon steel, fabricate guards, and perform indicated work.
- Assist in planning, coordinating and performing shutdown and major maintenance activities.
- Perform housekeeping of shop and areas where maintenance activities were performed.
- Build parts for replacement or repair of worn parts if needed.
- Wire and repair electric motors and troubleshoot basic wiring.
- Advise operators and others of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components.
- Install, start up and shut down equipment in accordance with safety procedures.
- Perform lockout/tag out as required.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment or at least 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance as a multi-skill technician.
- Proficient in troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Experience troubleshooting motors, drives, electrical circuits, hydraulic systems, power transmission, and robotics.
- Must have the ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical diagrams.
- PLC experience highly desired.
- Welding skills preferred.
- Ability to read/write simple instructions and communicate effectively with team members.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. periodically throughout the day.
- The hourly pay rate is $26-$33/hr.
