Salary adjustments:
Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) reduces each full‑time employee’s base salary by 3 percent and grants 5 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Part‑time employees receive the same adjustment proportionally, and permanent intermittent employees receive the same adjustment based on hours worked. Salaries listed do not reflect these changes.
Under the general supervision of the Correctional Health Services Administrator I/II at the facility, the Health Record Technician (HRT) II (Supervisor) supervises staff performing health information related technical and clerical functions. Responsibilities include reviewing abstracted manual and computerized information for completeness, consistency, and quality; performing simple data analysis; carrying out personnel related duties; and assisting in the training and instruction of health record staff and clinical personnel on record processes.
This is a limited‑term position that may be extended or become permanent.
Minimum Qualifications- Education:
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade. Additional qualifying experience may substitute for required education on a year‑for‑year basis. - Either I. Two years of experience in the California state service performing the duties of a Health Record Technician I; or II. Four years of increasingly responsible medical or health records experience, including at least two years of coding, indexing, and abstracting health data. Completion of an accredited academic curriculum in medical records science may substitute for required general experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
Individuals eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position.
