Job Summary:
The Data Integrity Analyst Lead oversees the activities of Data Integrity Analysts, Record Documentation Specialists, and Record Integrity Specialists, coordinating the daily management and overall maintenance of the EPIC Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI) system. This role involves managing EPIC dashboards and work queues to identify identity event reports, analyze potential duplicates, and perform merges. Additionally, the Lead is responsible for entering, reconciling, and supporting referring providers within the EPIC SER table, overseeing chart completion activities, and producing statistical reports to identify trends related to patient identity, duplicates, and documentation errors.
The Lead serves as a resource to medical staff and Valley Children’s leadership, providing guidance on using the data management system (DMS), handling complex chart corrections, and preparing administrative reports for various leadership committees.
Furthermore, the Data Integrity Analyst Lead responds to chart correction requests, patient safety alerts, and IT systems tickets, handling corrections in the MAR and SER tables, removing documents placed in the wrong patient chart, performing patient merges, and generating audit trail reports. The Lead also oversees Care Everywhere queries and leads various data integrity and chart completion projects. This role includes collaborating with Privacy to report HIPAA amendment and redaction requests, data breaches, and redaction of items within the medical record, as well as onboarding and training specialists.
Qualifications:Education
- College Degree - 2 year (required)
Licenses and Certifications
- RHIT - Registered Health Information Technician - AHIMA - American Health Information Management Association (required)
- RHIA - Registered Health Information Administrator - AHIMA - American Health Information Management Association (required)
Work Experience
- Minimum two (2) years Related experience. (required)
Skills and Abilities
- Critical thinking skills are a requirement of this position. Ability to read and understand the clinical chart is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office including the ability to format Excel spreadsheets preferred. Strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills including the ability to communicate effectively across a wide range of audiences. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to prioritize and multitask, keeping complex processes on track for multiple chart corrections at one time. Demonstrated effective use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook applications.
