Job type:
Part‑time (60% FTE), 24 hours per week.

Monthly pay range: $4,669.80 – $6,191.40.

Central California Women’s Facility, Chowchilla, CA (Madera County).

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity and diagnose ocular conditions.
  • Use observation and instruments to determine visual clarity, perception, focus, and coordination.
  • Prescribe corrective lenses and treatment as needed.
  • Maintain inmate safety and order during examinations; supervise inmate conduct.
  • Collaborate with medical, dental, nursing, mental health, and pharmacy staff to provide integrated health care.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid optometry license in the State of California.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of optometry practice experience.
