MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPIST - Valley State Prison (VSP)

Valley State Prison (VSP), located in Madera County, Chowchilla, CA, is hiring a Marriage and Family Therapist. This is a limited‑term position that may be extended or made permanent.

The role reports under the Sr. Psychologist, Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker I and functions within Mental Health Services. The Therapist will diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders within the context of marriage, couples and family systems, according to applicable Business and Professions Code(s) and licensing requirements. The position involves referring incarcerated patients to other licensed health care professionals following standardized procedures.

• Diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders within the context of marriage, couples, and family systems.
• Refer patients to other licensed health care professionals following standardized procedures.

Base pay range is based on skills and experience and may be affected by the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025), which reduces base salary by 3% for eligible employees. All salaries are subject to normal benefits administration.
