Under the supervision of a Supervising Dentist, a Dentist (DDS) at a State correctional facility is responsible for the delivery of dental care, including preventive care, to patients. The Dentist may delegate responsibilities to a Supervising Dental Assistant, Dental Assistant, and Dental Hygienist, while maintaining quality standards and security.

• Provide comprehensive dental examinations, preventive care, and treatment for incarcerated patients.
• Manage and supervise dental staff, including delegation of appropriate responsibilities.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, security, and procedural protocols within the correctional environment.
• Participate in performance management activities and continuous improvement of the Dental Program.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of all dental services provided.

• Legal authorization to practice dentistry in California as determined by the California Board of Dental Examiners.
• Graduation from an approved dental school (or equivalent).
• Current valid California Dentist license.
• Strong ability to work effectively in a correctional setting.

Monthly salary range: $20,121.00 – $31,873.00. 12‑month limited term, full time.
