Fusion Swim Team is seeking a motivated, energetic, and kid-focused professional to join our staff as an Assistant Age Group Coach & Swim Lesson Supervisor. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about teaching children to contributing to a positive team culture.
Position OverviewThis is a salaried position, with compensation commensurate with experience. The role combines on-deck coaching responsibilities with oversight and supervision of our swim lesson program, particularly during peak summer months.
Responsibilities- Assist with coaching age-group swimmers in accordance with Fusion Swim Team training philosophy
- Supervise and support swim lesson instructors and Junior Coaches to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality instruction
- Train instructors in Swim America's station-based curriculum
- Help maintain a positive, engaging environment for swimmers, families, and staff
- Communicate clearly and professionally with parents, swimmers, and fellow coaches
- Attend and assist at select weekend swim meets
- Support seasonal programming, including summer swim lessons in June and July
- Minimum of 3 years of swim lesson instruction and/or coaching experience
- Exceptions may be made for the right candidate
- Highly energetic, friendly, and enthusiastic
- Excellent communication skills
- Great with kids and comfortable working with a wide range of ages and skill levels
- Passion for both learn-to-swim and developmental swimming
Must currently hold or be willing to obtain:
- Lifeguard Certification
- USA Swimming Coach Certification
- ASCA Level 2 Certification
- Swim America Site Supervisor Certification
- Monday–Thursday weeknight availability
- Full daytime availability during summer lesson sessions (June & July)
- Some weekend availability for swim meets
