The primary function of a Fire Alarm Technician is to provide the necessary leadership, planning, organization, direction and control in order to meet or exceed the Company’s objectives. This is accomplished through effective time management; the establishment of strong relationships within the Company and within the industry; and the development and implementation of the proper utilization of company provided resources in conjunction with following the company’s policies and procedures.
The Fire Alarm Technician is tasked with meeting and exceeding customer needs and requirements, producing quality installation and service on schedule and within estimated timeframe.
- High School Diploma or GED, Post-Secondary Education and Verifiable Certifications.
- 4 to 6 years relevant construction related experience preferred.
- Program, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems, such as security, fire alarm, CCTV, access control, sound, intercom, voice/data, and nurse call, applying principles and theories of electronics, electrical circuitry, electronic and electrical testing.
- Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds, work from heights above 10 feet, and work in confined areas.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift, crouch, reach, handle, push and pull.
- Must be able to drive a vehicle.
- Must be able to travel and stay out of town as needed.
- Must be able to operate and efficiently use measuring instruments and gauges and assorted industry related devices.
- Must be able to work in extremely cold and extremely hot temperatures.
- Must be able to work while exposed to loud sounds and noise levels.
