GENERALJOB DESCRIPTION
The Senior Technician is a heavy equipment mechanic that specializes in the modernization and repair of cranes. The role involves routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades, as well as solving complex problems when the crane malfunctions. The Technician must be self‑sufficient, demonstrate leadership and effective communication, and act as a liaison between HCSG management and customers. DUTIES& RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be on‑call and provide after‑hour services as required.
- Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and upgrade industrial hoists and cranes at customer sites.
- Train and mentor field technicians.
- Perform OSHA‑required hoist and crane inspections, generate inspection reports and repair orders.
- Communicate with the Service Manager and Branch Manager to schedule and complete work.
- Consult with customers on all repair and safety issues and recommend improvements.
- Maintain all company‑issued equipment, vehicles, and assets in safe, working order.
- Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles safely. tám Notify the supervisor of deficiencies.
- Maintain supplies of HCSG forms and materials in the company vehicle.
- Work effectively within a team.
- Attend required trainings and seminars.
- Participate in HCSG 5 Marks program.
- Other duties as assigned.
The position is labor intensive. Must lift up to 50 lbs daily (100 lbs on occasion) and climb, balance, stoop/crouch, reach overhead, bend, squat, stand, sit, push, pull, kneel, crawl, and coordinate hands and eyes frequently. Heights over 50 ft are common. Travel may be required 20‑50 % of the time and over‑town travel at the company’s discretion.
WORK ENVIRONMENTWork is performed inside or outside customers’ premises, often in extreme hot or cold temperatures; during summer months temperatures can exceed 120 °F. The environment exposes personnel to noise, heights, fumes, dust, and odors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- 5–7 years of crane repair & maintenance experience.
- ఐ 3–4 years electrical and/or mechanical experience if not meeting crane repair experience.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable record.
- Commitment to work and drive safely.
- Willingness to work at various heights.
- Basic computer skills for web‑based crane inspection programs.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as a team.
- Knowledge of hand tools or possession of hand tools réalisés.
- Vocational/Technical training certificate.
Must be able to pass a pre‑employment drug test and background (DISA) and submit to random and annual drug testing as required.
