Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a GA or compact license for a day shift position at a Level 1 trauma, teaching hospital.
Responsibilities- Work in various ICU units including MICU, CCU, CVICU, NICU, PCU, and STICU
- ICU nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1-2 and PCU ratio is 1:3-4
- 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm
- Schedule includes five to six weekend shifts every six weeks with coverage required on select major holidays
- No on-call or call back required
- Floating is required to all ICU and Med/Tele units as needed
- Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis, Phillips monitors, and Nova Glucose Stat Strips
- Will care for critically ill medical, surgical, neuro, cardiovascular, and step-down patients
- Support team includes CNAs, unit secretaries, charge nurses, discharge and resource nurses, PICC team, 24/7 respiratory therapist, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage
- One day facility orientation and two days departmental orientation provided
- Required to wear navy scrubs
- Team-oriented, fast-paced work environment
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Active GA or compact RN license
- Minimum of 2 years ICU RN experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; CCRN preferred
- Must pass EKG competency exam during onboarding
- Experience with trach care, chest tube management, peripheral IV starts, and titration of critical care drips such as insulin, heparin, narcotics, paralytics, vasopressors, sedation, and cardiac medications
