Pay Range$24.83 - $46.12 per hour
Responsibilities- Safely and accurately mix and administer chemotherapeutic agents as ordered by physicians, using ONS standards and guidelines. Dispose of biohazardous waste per OSHA and HRS guidelines.
- Conduct ongoing patient assessment and maintain thorough documentation in OncoEMR, ensuring appropriate charges are captured following medication administration guidelines.
- Follow the company’s I.D. policy and procedure with every patient encounter; act as moderator/instructor for chemotherapy classes as needed. Educate patients and families about medications, side effects, and planned treatment course.
- Perform telephone triage, prioritizing incoming calls and messages from patients, families, hospitals, nursing facilities, pharmacies, and physician offices from emergent to non-urgent, responding in an appropriate time frame.
- Assist with inventory and re‑stocking medical supplies when called upon; recommend purchase of new items as needed and place stock in storage areas in a timely manner.
- Dispense medications via Nucleus, perform cycle counts, restock medications within the appropriate time frame, and enter all appropriate patient charges into Nucleus.
- Attend annual Safety/OSHA training meetings and all mandatory staff meetings as necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient and employee information at all times.
- Assist in training new employees to related job duties.
- Work at any company location to support business needs.
- Comply with all federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to patient privacy, patient rights, personnel law, safety, labor, and employment law; adhere to company and departmental policies and procedures, including IT policies and procedures and the Disaster Plan.
- Registered Nurse, licensed in the state of employment, with experience in IV therapy.
- Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital is required.
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to assess patient needs and conditions; react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Current CPR & BLS certifications are required.
- Fluency in English with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license in state of residency for travel to clinics.
