IT Project Manager

Larimer County IT is seeking a Project Manager to lead complex, high-visibility technology projects that matter to the organization and the community. This role is responsible for guiding projects from planning through delivery, coordinating with a wide range of stakeholders, and ensuring work is completed thoughtfully, accurately, and on time.

This position sits within the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) and works closely with project managers, organizational change managers, and business analysts. The work is varied, and fast-moving projects differ in scope, teams change, and no two days look quite the same. It’s a role well suited to someone who enjoys variety, collaboration, and seeing meaningful projects through to completion.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience planning and implementing technology projects, communicates clearly, and approaches challenges with a solutions-focused mindset. • Overseeing all phases of project management, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, and project closure.
• Leading complex, enterprise-wide project implementations involving multiple internal and external teams and stakeholders.
• Delivering high-quality project artifacts, such as project charters, budgets, communication plans, and other required components of the project plan.
• Leveraging agile, waterfall, and hybrid project management methodologies as appropriate to project needs.
• Conducting risk management activities, including planning, mitigation, and escalation.
• Managing procurement, contracting, and vendor relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
• Facilitating critical conversations among departments, customers, vendors, and technical teams.

This position may be hired as a Project Manager or a Senior Project Manager, depending on qualifications.

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, combination of education and/or experience in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, or a related field is required. Related education or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
• Three (3) years of project management and/or program management experience required.
• One (1) year of experience in managing information technology projects in an IT organization or department required.
• One (1) year of experience in Agile/Scrum required.
• Ability to obtain Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification within one (1) year of hire date required.
• Possess reliable transportation to be able to work in any County facility as needed and required.
