Overview
Now is the time to have the job you want. Part Time or PRN Dysphagia Management Specialist in physician's office/clinic settings, surrounding nursing homes, and a specialized teletherapy portal to help patients quarantined during this time. This is an opportunity for a clinician who wishes to grow exponentially in dysphagia skills performing FEES and Speech Pathology Diagnostics, while achieving work-life balance.
Responsibilities- Participate in a DMS outpatient/physician's office/hospital-at-home program with a proven record of success across settings, including teletherapy performed from home.
- Choose to specialize in Dysphagia Diagnosis utilizing FEES and short-term therapy, or specialize in therapy alone and defer FEES to another colleague; both options are needed.
- Use the Dysphagia Systems Test (DST) to evaluate the five systems required for safe swallowing:
Muscular, Neurological, Respiratory, Gastrointestinal, and Cognitive. - Develop a customized diagnostic profile with the patient’s care team and provide recommendations for diet, therapy, and further evaluations.
- Access online continuing education content, participate in courses, observational periods, and a comprehensive patient-focused in-the-field learning experience to achieve FEES proficiency to ASHA standards.
- Complete pre/post educational self-assessments of skills to document ASHA-required knowledge and skills.
- Receive provided equipment to perform endoscopic swallowing studies, participate in a mentor program, weekly team calls, and ongoing CE support throughout your career.
- Commitment to stay with DMS throughout mentorship to receive zero tuition for training.

RequirementsMaster’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology;
Completion of the Certificate of Clinical Competency;
At least 5 years of experience in long-term care following completion of CFY.
