Schedule Details/Additional Information Monday-Thursday (10‑hour days), with flexibility to work on Fridays if preferred.

Pay Range $37.50 – $56.25

Major Responsibilities
  • Patient Assessments / Reassessment – performs appropriate patient assessments resulting in an effective treatment plan.
  • Reassesses patients at appropriate intervals demonstrating the ability to observe treatment effect and modify the plan of care as indicated.
  • Involves the patient and/or family in the assessment process and the formation of the care plan.
  • Care Planning / Interdisciplinary Communication – provides care in accordance with physician’s orders, demonstrates appropriate case management, and communicates appropriately to physicians, nurses, case managers, and other members of the health care team to ensure collaborative and appropriate care.
  • Patient Outcomes – assesses and documents patient outcomes criteria at the initial and discharge evaluations.
  • Speech Therapy Modalities / Patient Treatment – demonstrates knowledge of speech therapy modalities / treatments and performs correctly.
  • Operates Equipment Safely and Correctly – demonstrates knowledge of and competency in using equipment pertinent to providing speech therapy services.
  • Patient Education – formulates a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs, evaluates effectiveness of learning, and includes the family in teaching as appropriate.
  • Documentation – meets current standards and policies, is legible, uses no inappropriate abbreviations, is completed in a timely manner, and closes medical records as per policy.
  • Charge Capture – time is adequately documented in assessments and daily treatment notes, and each charge bill adequately reflects all services provided.
  • Professional Growth – demonstrates self‑growth as a professional therapist, engages in continuing education and professional growth opportunities.
Licensure, Registration, And/or Certification Required

Georgia license and American Speech / Language Association Certification

Education Required

Must be a High School or GED Diploma Graduate. Master’s in Communication Disorders.

Experience Required

CFY will be considered.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Good interpersonal and communication skills, time management skills, and the ability to be flexible and dependable.

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

Must be able to use visual near and distance acuity. Must have verbal ability to communicate in person and over the phone or radio. Must be able to assist co‑workers in transfers and transport supplies, patients/residents, or equipment using good body mechanics. Must have functional range of motion of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spines, upper and lower extremities with a grip strength of 60‑80 pounds, specific to the job class evaluation.

Must be able to forward reach, overhead reach, bend, squat, kneel and change from one position to the other rapidly. Must be able to lift 25‑60 lbs. and carry 25‑50 pounds specific to job class evaluation. Must be able to tolerate high noise, busy atmospheres and noxious odors. Must be able to work in noisy environments and be self‑directed to complete jobs as ordered.

Must be able to remain calm under stressful situations. Must be able to assess and respond to multiple situations simultaneously. Must be able to assist co‑workers in multiple overlapping tasks simultaneously. Must be able to prioritize job tasks and organize workspace to be efficient and conducive to completing work tasks as assigned in a timely manner. If job class is identified as falling under POPE C, the individual must pass the cardiac recovery test.
