This position is responsible for:
Provides individual, group counseling in relation to the treatment and recovery of Veteran clients; develops treatment plans and participates in treatment team decisions; prepares and maintains accurate and up-to-date client records and progress reports; serves as liaison to other staff to maintain awareness of client's behavior and progress and needs. Meets with other case management staff to coordinate treatment objectives.

Refers clients to community resources as appropriate. Supervises case management staff in the Veterans Program.

• Interviews clients and conducts assessments; produces written assessment outlining substance abuse history, personal history, testing results, impressions, and recommendations; consults with Case Management Specialists and Case Workers regarding assessment results and recommendations.
• Supervises assigned clients' treatment from intake orientation through completion of treatment; supervises client progress in meeting treatment objectives and supports clients in compliance; orients clients to program rules, procedures, and expectations; charts client group attendance; prepares weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Works in a multi-disciplinary team approach to motivate, modify, and otherwise prepare clients and significant others in the recovery process.
• Develops individualized treatment plans and maintains updated revisions of each plan in relation to the progress of each client; ensures that treatment plans address the physical, emotional, vocational, social, and spiritual needs of each client with identified time limits and measurable objectives.
• Advices individuals or groups regarding problems, such as stress, substance abuse, or family situations, using evaluative techniques, and develops and implements therapeutic treatment plans.
• Conducts counseling sessions; conducts individual sessions for clients in office, utilizes various counseling techniques including not limited to motivational interviewing, cognitive therapy techniques; coordinates referrals for more intensive treatment if needed.

Ability to meet attendance requirements, ability to read, write and communicate the English language; limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Duties are performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

• Master’s degree in social work from an accredited college or university required, and
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with the state of GA, with two years of progressively responsible experience in counseling and/or social work.

• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with the state of GA
• Valid State Driver’s License
• Must be able to obtain and maintain driving privileges per Salvation Army insurance standards.
