Job Summary
Kumho Tire Georgia (KTG) is seeking an experienced Environmental Coordinator to support environmental compliance at our manufacturing facility in Macon, Georgia. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local environmental regulations, permits, and reporting requirements. The Environmental Coordinator will manage environmental programs including air quality compliance, stormwater management, wastewater compliance, hazardous waste, solid waste, recycling, biosolids land application, and chemical management, while partnering with plant leadership to promote a culture of environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all environmental permits and regulatory requirements (EPA, EPD, local agencies), including permit renewals and modifications.
- Manage environmental programs including air permits, stormwater pollution prevention (SWPPP), wastewater discharge permits (NPDES), hazardous waste (RCRA), solid waste, recycling, biosolids, and chemical compliance (EPCRA, Tier II reporting).
- Conduct internal environmental audits and compliance inspections, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor regulatory changes and advise plant leadership on compliance risks and mitigation strategies.
- Maintain accurate environmental records, documentation, and reporting systems.
- Prepare and submit required environmental reports to regulatory agencies in a timely manner.
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of environmental control equipment; coordinate repairs and capital improvements as needed.
- Develop and deliver environmental training programs for supervisors and employees to support compliance and environmental awareness.
- Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies while maintaining professional communication.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to environmental performance and sustainability.
- Experience in environmental compliance within a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of EPA regulations, RCRA, NPDES, air permitting, hazardous waste management, and environmental reporting requirements.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Ability to conduct audits, analyze compliance data, and implement corrective actions.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
- Ability to respond to time-sensitive environmental issues in both indoor and outdoor work environments.
