Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:
Plans, coordinates, directs, administers, and implements the athletic program for a high school; teaches and helps students learn subject matter and develop critical thinking and life skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible persons.
REPORTS TO:
Principal
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or above is required.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Must possess (or meet qualifications for) Georgia educational certification in a teaching field.
- Teaching and coaching experience at the secondary school level is required.
- Strong background in the fundamentals of football is required.
- Prior experience playing football is desired.
SALARY/TERMS/BENEFITS:
- 225 day work year (12 month position); eight- (8) hours per day.
- Salary based on certification and experience; placement on the Georgia Annual Salary Schedule, position supplement(s) and placement on supplemental duty schedule for the designated sport.
- Excellent benefits package: includes health insurance; dental and life insurance; employee assistance program; personal and sick leave; membership in Teachers' Retirement System.
