The Department of Psychology and Criminal Justice includes programs that are designed to produce scientifically analytic, critical thinkers prepared to succeed in meeting the challenges of modern life. We emphasis career preparation in the behavioral sciences through lifelong learning. The Department offers an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, and a Doctorate in Public Safety.
Job SummaryThis position is for a full-time Lecturer in Psychology (not on tenure-track) to begin in Fall (August) 2026. The area of specialization is open to all areas/approaches to Psychological Science. Successful applicants will teach various courses within the B.S. program in Psychology. The teaching load for a Lecturer at MGA is a 5/5 course load, with no expectations for scholarship/research production.
Student mentoring such as supervising student research and scholarship is encouraged however. Travel among our campuses is expected for the position. This is a ten (10)-month faculty position, with the option to teach Summer courses, pending enrollment. Regular weekly on campus presence is required for the position. Teaching responsibilities will include face to face and online courses.
- Teach a workload of a variety of five courses per Fall and Spring semester, in courses for the B.S. program in Psychology.
- Actively pursue continuous improvement in teaching.
- Actively engage in activities aimed at improving student success.
- Be present on campus regularly/weekly.
Required Educational Qualifications
At least a master’s degree in Psychology or Neuroscience (or closely related field) from a regionally-accredited university (or international equivalent) is required.
Required Experience- Experience in a university setting.
- Experience that warrants a non-tenure-track appointment.
- Experience teaching related courses at the college-level.
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Doctorate in Psychology or Neuroscience (or closely related field) is preferred. Field/Area of specialization is open, but candidates will be evaluated on their fit with particular course teaching needs.
Preferred Experience- Experience with online course delivery will be a plus.
