Superintendent, Construction

An established and growing General Contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations across Commercial Interiors, Industrial projects and Residential clubhouse and amenity developments.

This individual will take full responsibility for daily site management, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

• Oversee and manage daily construction activities on site
• Schedule and coordinate subcontractor start dates and sequencing
• Lead weekly schedule review meetings with subcontractors
• Produce and manage three week look ahead programmes
• Inspect in place work to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications
• Communicate technical issues to the Project Manager and design teams to initiate revisions where required
• Maintain responsibility for site quality control, safety performance and schedule adherence
• Produce daily and weekly field reports
• Act as primary point of contact for inspections and coordinate punch list and close out activities
• Identify and document schedule impacts or contract non conformance and implement recovery plans
• Resolve construction issues in a timely and cost effective manner
• Manage General Conditions and General Requirements budgets
• Work closely with the Project Manager on overall project delivery

• Minimum three years’ experience as an Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent on construction projects
• Strong leadership and problem solving capability
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage subcontractors and liaise with internal teams and clients
• Ability to work independently and prioritise in a fast paced environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Experience using scheduling software
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing and scheduling
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and contract documents
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
