Examples of Duties: Provides procurement support and purchases supplies, equipment, or services necessary for the operation of GFC. Initiate, develop and manage bid process according to state laws and procedures, GFC policies and professional standards. Conducts pre-bid meetings across the state for construction projects and annual training which may require overnight travel. Also attends appropriate training as required. Review, approve/deny and process requisitions, purchase orders and invoices in Peoplesoft checking for conformity with specifications, proper coding, state laws, rules and regulations and GFC Policies and Procedures.
Assist with monthly purchasing card activities and audits. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Agency Specific
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree in business administration, public administration or a directly related field from an accredited college or university OR Two years of experience in a purchasing environment providing support in collecting bids, completing procurement documents and related functions. Must have or obtain within 12 months the Georgia Certified Purchasing Associate certificate. Must be proficient with Excel. Must be able to pass credit check to obtain a State P-card.
Professional experience in a purchasing environment providing support in collecting bids, completing procurement documents and related functions may substitute for the degree on a year for year basis.
NOTE:
An equivalent combination of education and job-specific experience that provides the knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration or a directly related field from an accredited college or university OR Four years of experience in a purchasing environment. Experience in a governmental purchasing setting, experience working with Work Day and/or People Soft Financials applications, certified procurement officer or related certification from a recognized national organization or program.
Work Location: Office would be located at the Macon Complex. Not eligible for Telework. May require some overnight travel.
Associate degree in accounting or business, or a directly related field from an accredited college or university; or Technical diploma in accounting or business and one (1) year job-related experience in a procurement environment; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Procurement Agent Trainee (FEP
019) or Procurement Technician (FET
112) or position equivalent.
Note:
Some positions require Georgia Procurement Manual area-specific certification(s).
