APPOINTMENT:August 21, 2025
RESPONSIBILITIES:Duties will include developing and coordinating the schedule of undergraduate music therapy student fieldwork (practicum) with Music Therapy coordinator and agencies, observing and grading student-lead clinical sessions, providing clinical supervision to assigned students, reviewing and grading clinical documentation generated, grading other assignments, and reviewing students' achievement of clinical competencies with director of music therapy. Teaching responsibilities will include Clinical Skills classes, co-supervision of Music Therapy Practicum classes, and other classes based on department need and individual experience.
RANK & SALARY: Instructor. 75% appointment. $3,351 per month.

Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Music Therapy Board Certification required.
- Must meet the requirements for Academic Faculty as stipulated in the AMTA Standards for Education and Clinical Training.
- Must have at least one year full-time professional experience as a certified music therapist beyond the internship. Accrued part time experience considered if equivalent to one year full time.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ongoing continuing education in music therapy including advanced training in specialty areas (e.g. Neurologic Music Therapy, Music Therapy Drumming, Neonatal Music Therapy, Hospice and Palliative Care).
For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body). Unless otherwise stated, the degree must be conferred at the time of appointment.

THE DEPARTMENT: The School of Music, accredited by NASM, offers professional undergraduate degrees in Performance, Jazz Studies, Composition, Music Business, Music Education and Music Therapy; and Master of Music degrees in Performance, Composition, Piano Pedagogy, Music Education, Conducting, Musicology, and Jazz Studies. The faculty of 32 full-time members serves approximately 160 majors.
