JOB DUTIES:
The Enrollment and Retention Data Analyst supports the strategic data and reporting initiatives of the Office of the Provost and the University through the analysis, reporting, and communication of information to strengthen and promote student retention, recruitment, persistence, and graduation. The employee in this position works collaboratively with the Provost's Office and the Office of Student Success Enrollment Management to provide data and statistical analysis to inform Enrollment, Recruitment and Retention Initiatives including but not limited to: probability modeling to anticipate enrollment likelihood;
financial aid econometrics and award strategy analysis; and the identification of new student enrollment and retention variables to inform student persistence and graduation outcomes. The Enrollment and Retention Data Analyst position manipulates data to assess information needed for an array of professional staff using contemporary reporting and analysis tools (e.g., R, SAS, Tableau, SPSS, etc.) using intermediate programing/coding and inferential statistical software (e.g., SAS, SPSS) to perform intermediate financial analysis following policies, procedures, and guidelines for large data sets and project management, relational file navigation, basic system analysis and design, and intermediate predicative analytics and data visualization.
Intermediate financial analysis in the context of this position involves enrollment and revenue modeling; cost and productivity analysis; and aid and affordability studies. These financial analyses take the form of:
- Estimating net tuition revenue based on enrollment trends, discount rates, and aid distribution.
- Producing cohort revenue projections for retention or completion analysis.
- Modeling the financial impact of demographic shifts (e.g., fewer in-state students).
- Calculating cost per credit hour, student FTE, or degree by department or college.
- Supporting program reviews with instructional cost, revenue contribution, and efficiency metrics.
- Analyzing faculty workload vs. SCH and student outcomes.
- Evaluating the financial effect of aid packages on yield and persistence.
- Supporting IPEDS or Common Data Set reporting with cost of attendance breakdowns.

WAGE: $60,996 per year

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
- Eighteen months of relevant research, statistical analysis, and experience with an analyst role; demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate complex data; excellent analytical and quantitative skills; demonstrated proficiency with SQL, Python, R, SAS, Tableau, or SPSS.
