Title: Travel RN — Labor & Delivery / OB

Location: Machias, ME

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Nights, 7p-7a

This role provides comprehensive, patient-centered care across the obstetric continuum including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, recovery, nursery, and post-op gynecology settings.

• Provide holistic, evidence-based nursing care to OB patients using the nursing process.
• Independently perform clinical assessments, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation.
• Manage patients in Labor & Delivery, including active labor care and recovery.
• Support antepartum and postpartum care, including routine newborn assessments.
• Provide care for nursery and post-operative gynecology patients as needed.
• Collaborate with providers, support staff, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain competency in all unit-specific clinical skills.

• Current RN license (compact or Maine licensure).
• Minimum 1 year of acute care nursing experience.
• Must have Labor & Delivery experience.
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required prior to start.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Knowledge of rural hospital OB practices.
• Strong assessment and clinical judgment skills.
• Comfortable with basic newborn care and stabilization.

• BLS (American Heart Association)
• ACLS
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• STABLE certification
