Position Title: Controls Engineer
Wage: $75,000 - $130,000/year

Controls Engineer Responsibilities:- Develop PC and non-PC based HMI (Human Machine Interface) software for our gear hobbing, gear grinding, and gear shaping conversational programs
- Develop user manuals for the HMI and Machine software
- Startup, test and debug the software either on our floor or in the customer's facility
- Macro development for the NC part programs
- Develop PLC software (Ladder, Statement List and Function Block Diagram)
- Implement backup policies and procedures for our machinery software
- Implement software design rules and policies to maintain an acceptable level of revision control, commenting, format and functionality
- Previous CNC, PLC and HMI experience
- RS 274 – Standard programming language for CNC
- IEC 61131 – Standard programming language for PLC
- Ladder logic programming
- Electrical background and strong mathematics skills
- Experience with Motion Controls
- Experience with Visual , VB6, and Visual C++
- Experience with Siemens HMI Operate and HMI Advanced
- Experience programming PLC for Siemens 840D, 840DS and Fanuc 30 series controls
- Experience writing CNC Macro software routines
- Experience with Fanuc Macro executor software
- Read, understand and follow mechanical, electrical, and fluid drawings
- Knowledge of electrical circuitry (high and low voltage), relay control logic, PLC logic, CNC functions and programming, servo systems and feedback systems
- Knowledge of hydraulics, lubrication systems, pneumatic systems, coolant systems and other fluid power systems
- Previous experience servicing other OEM metal‑working equipment is highly desired
- Familiar with volt/ohm/amp meters and oscilloscope use
- Must have own tools
- Proficiency in technical writing
- Ability to travel for field customer service or installation support, with ability to obtain a passport
- Professional appearance and behavior, both among customers and co‑workers
- Effective oral and written communication and reporting using Microsoft Office software
- Valid driver's license
