Special Education Teacher for a new school near Machesney Park, IL. Pedia Staff is a trusted leader in pediatric therapy and educational staffing solutions, connecting passionate professionals with rewarding school-based and clinic opportunities since 2004. We're currently seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher ($50-$60/hour based on experience) to support special needs students near the Machesney Park, IL area

- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or higher
- Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Endorsements in Special Education (Learning Behavior Specialist I)
- Dates:
March 16 – June 11, 2026 - Hours:
8:00am – 3:30pm, 30-minute duty free lunch (7‑hour days, 35‑hour weeks) - Setting:
Special Education;
One building - Caseload:
Self‑Contained classrooms with 10 students to 1 teacher & 1 para ratios - In person only
As a Special Education Teacher, you will support students with diverse learning needs by creating inclusive and personalized educational plans that help them thrive both academically and emotionally. This role offers the opportunity to work with young learners in a supportive school environment while making a lasting impact on their development.
Key Responsibilities- Accommodate, modify and adapt lessons and curriculum as needed to meet individual student needs and IEP goals
- Support in the facilitation of IEP meetings as well as development of the IEP
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the developmental levels and interests of students
- Set and communicate clear expectations for classroom behavior and school environment by applying positive reinforcement and/or behavior modification techniques as needed; assist in the development and implementation of student behavior intervention plans
