Applications Available:
In person at Macedonia City Center – Police Dispatch (24 hours/day, 7 days/week), located at 9691 Valley View Road, Macedonia, Ohio 44056. The City will accept completed applications for lateral transfers for the position of Police Officer via email at jhoover.us
, U.S. mail, or hand‑delivery effective immediately until the position(s) are filled, or the City closes the application period.

• Enforce traffic violations
• Make arrests
• Collect and preserve evidence
• Administer first aid
• Testify in court
• Promote good public relations

Applicants must be willing to work scheduled/assigned shifts (currently 12‑hour shifts), including weekends and holidays. Shift differential per hour:
Night shift $1.50, Float $0.50 – subject to collective bargaining agreement.

Salary Range:
2023: $67,390.79 – $78,568 2024: $69,412.52 – $80,925.70 2025: $71,494.90 – $83,353.47

• Currently or within the past 12 months employed as a full‑time Classified Civil Service Police Officer
• Required to take and pass psychological, physical, and polygraph tests
• Other testing includes EKG, drug screening (periodic drug screening during employment required), background check, and personal interview with the appointing authority
• Required to be a nonsmoker and remain a nonsmoker for the duration of employment
• Subject to a probationary period
