Shift Pattern / Working Hours

Monday to Friday, with a 30‑minute unpaid lunch break each day. A total of 40 hours per week.

Job Description

As a CNC maintenance technician, you will be required to carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding on CNC milling and turning machines, as well as carry out reactive and preventative maintenance. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, who is aware of the high standards needed to keep our manufacturing department operational.

Required Skills
  • Strong knowledge of how CNC machines operate so that you can fault‑find and carry out practical repairs.
  • Time served or apprentice‑trained mechanical / maintenance engineer; electrical knowledge would be advantageous.
  • Experienced in machine‑tool servicing, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Excellent diagnostic skills and ability to deliver practical engineering solutions.
  • Good familiarity and knowledge of multi‑axis, metal‑cutting machinery.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to effectively inform the wider team on technical matters both verbally and in writing.
Responsibilities
  • Servicing our CNC machines periodically with the creation of a preventative maintenance plan.
  • Carry out reactive repairs on all machine breakdowns in a timely manner to minimise disruption to manufacturing.
  • Help set and work to a budget to ensure that repairs are cost‑effective.
  • Liaise and build relationships with external suppliers to improve lead times and costs.
  • Ensure the safety of all employees on site, reporting any shortcomings and promoting proactive safety behaviour.
  • Actively promote a safe working environment, encouraging staff to report incidents and adopt the stop‑work authority process.
  • Support training and development needs of individuals as required by supervisors and management.
  • Enable effective communications between management, supervisors, and operators.
  • Suggest and support the implementation of RCI initiatives.
  • Promote and maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with company policies.
  • Manage relevant documentation, ensuring compliance with current legislation and regulations.
