Job Overview

Do you want to work in a friendly, professional and patient-focused Community Mental Health Team where your skills, knowledge and experience would be valued?

We are after a band 5 mental health nurse to join our team. The successful applicant would work predominantly within the wellbeing clinic administering and monitoring the effectiveness of medications to patients with complex mental health conditions. You would be working as an autonomous practitioner managing an individual caseload of patients within a clinic and community setting.

The position is full time s per week and is based at Jocelyn Solly Resource Centre. The service operates 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday. You would be joining a well-established, experienced and supportive multi-disciplinary team that is always looking to evolve and adapt to changing practices in mental health care. The position includes actively engaging in service development as well as focusing on personal growth.

Main Duties

The post holder will work autonomously, within a multi-disciplinary framework, to administer and monitor specialist medications as part of the wellbeing clinic.

As well as administering and monitoring medications, the successful applicant will also contribute to the effective running of the clinic: ordering medications, checking stock, physical health checks and maintaining the clinic machinery.

Excellent communication, clinic note writing, and assessment skills are essential for this post. Applicants should have sound working knowledge of mental health disorders and the Mental Health Act.

Access to transport for work purposes is essential as the post involves community visits to patients homes and external clinics.
