Infection Prevention & Control Specialist Nurse (Commissioned Services)

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced specialist infection prevention and control (IPC) nurse on a full-time basis, working over 5 days, Monday to Friday at Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. This post will be based in Macclesfield. If you are a specialist IPC Nurse, preferably with experience of working across community settings looking to develop existing leadership skills, this post offers a great opportunity.

• Lead on the development of a quality, proactive and evidence-based IPC service to prevent and reduce the incidence of infections across the Cheshire East health system.
• Support the community Tuberculosis (TB) Nurse as service need requires.
• Line‑manage and supervise members of the IPC team.
• Implement improvements to enhance IPC safety and articulate best IPC practices across a broad range of services.
• Manage your own workload, demonstrate excellent communication skills and engage and inspire others.

• Specialist IPC nursing experience, preferably in community settings.
• Strong people management, organisational and computer literacy skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead a multi‑disciplinary team.
• Current driving licence and access to a car for work across Cheshire East.
• Non‑medical prescribing qualification or willingness to undergo training (desirable).

• Shortlisting commences 19/01/2026; interview date 12/02/2026.
• All new starters will commence on a fixed start date each month, in line with our Prepare to Care (P2C) induction programme. P2C offers up to three weeks of training to meet initial training requirements.
