Metro Rod LTD is part of Franchise Brands, a fast‑growing business with over 40 years of experience. We work with Tesco, Marks and Spencer, Mitie, Clarion, Axa, Wetherspoons and many more across FM, social housing, property management, retail, industrial and leisure sectors. Founded in 1983, Metro Rod and its sister company Metro Plumb provide drain clearance and maintenance services across the UK, with over 60 franchisees covering the country.

Additionally, within the Waste & Water Services Division of Franchise Brands we operate Willow Pumps and Filta, focusing on sewage pumps and commercial kitchen solutions, providing a complete one‑stop shop for water and waste services.

Our local/regional finance team is based at Macclesfield Support Centre, full‑time permanent. This role will support the Credit Controller team.

Responsibilities

You will manage an extensive ledger on a day‑to‑day basis to ensure maximum cash collection, whilst highlighting and managing potential financial risk to the business and contributing towards achieving financial targets and corporate objectives. This role requires a proactive, confident and thorough approach, working to strict SLAs and KPIs, and managing current debt. It is ideal for someone experienced in having difficult conversations with customers over the phone.

Qualifications
  • Experienced Credit Controller
  • Sage 200 experience
  • Previous experience within an office/call centre environment
  • Driven and keen interest in cash collection and debt reduction
  • KPI / results driven
  • Ability to multi‑task
  • Advanced literacy and numeracy
  • Advanced IT skills
  • Resilience – able to have tough conversations
  • Ability to build rapport quickly
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight timescales
  • Ability to make clear decisions / think clearly when under pressure
