This is an exciting time to be joining Sir John Deane's Sixth Form College and the Sir John Brunner Foundation Multi Academy Trust, which collectively educates over 4,300 children, and employs over 450 professionals. Each of our academies operates at the heart of their local communities. The Foundation’s central offices are based at Sir John Deane’s Sixth Form College campus.
The RoleThe Head of English and Modern Foreign Languages is in charge of an academic department, comprising of: A Level English Language, A Level English Literature, A Level French and A Level Spanish.
The Head oversees the implementation of strategic policies and work towards the advancement of teachers and support staff within the team, continually assessing the performance of the department and its members.

What We Are Looking ForThis post is an ideal opportunity for a successful and ambitious individual looking to develop their leadership experience and to lead a team of exceptional professionals with a long track record of academic success.
A Level experience is an essential requirement. The successful candidate should have an ability to teach both A Level English Language and A Level English Literature, although the former is expected to be the majority of the Head of Department’s teaching responsibilities.
We are seeking to appoint an individual with a strong academic background in English who loves to teach, who has a passion for all aspects of both English subjects and who can demonstrate the ability to lead.
