Customer Service Rep, Retail Associate/ Customer Service
The Parts Specialist delivers exceptional service to retail and installer customers, supports store management, and promotes company customer service programs.
Essential Job Functions- Follow and promote all company customer service programs (Hi‑5, Low Price Guarantee, Rock the Call, Related Selling, Rock the Lot, etc.)
- Greet retail/walk‑in customers friendly/courteously and assist them in selecting merchandise.
- Assist managers and/or installer service specialists in serving professional customers as needed.
- Complete assigned company training relevant to the position.
- Provide excellent phone service: answer calls, look up parts and quote prices, recommend premium and related items, offer Low‑Price Guarantee.
- Maintain and secure cash drawer, accept cash/checks, make accurate change, process credit card transactions.
- Process exchanges and returns for credit, following company policies.
- Address and resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
- Assist with daily image maker and planogram updates, freight receipt, stocking shelves, fronting/facing, cleaning, etc.
- Prepare new, core, and warranty merchandise returns for shipment to the distribution center; assist with monthly stock adjustments, inventory cycle counts, etc.
- Operate brake lathe and other store test equipment after training/compliance.
- Perform in‑store services for customers where state and local laws allow (install wipers, test/charge batteries, scan vehicle trouble codes, replace headlight capsules, etc.).
- Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle to make deliveries when business needs dictate (must meet company driving eligibility requirements).
- All other duties as assigned.
- Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
- Ability to provide outstanding, friendly, and professional customer service.
- Must be able to multitask, handling customers on the phone and in the store simultaneously.
- Familiarity with automotive parts, cataloging, Weatherly Index system, and automotive sales or service.
- ASE certification.
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
