Job Purpose and Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow all company SOPs to assist pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
  • Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, offering immunizations and other services, and solving or escalating patient problems.
  • Complete basic inventory activities, such as putting away medication deliveries and cycle counts, within the limits of law.
  • Embrace a growth mindset, seek feedback, and expand clinical and technical knowledge.
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, and volunteer to travel to stores as required.
  • Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles.
  • Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing) where allowed.
Immunization Responsibilities (if applicable)
  • Complete additional licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status.
  • Educate patients about vaccines and refer to the pharmacist for questions.
  • Monitor and respond to adverse reactions; report events per public health requirements.
  • Collect, track, and document patient information for each applicable vaccine.
  • Monitor and manage vaccine supplies.
Required Qualifications
  • Meet state board of pharmacy requirements, including age, education, licensure, and certification.
  • If no minimum age is mandated, be at least 16 years old.
  • If no minimum education is mandated, have a high school diploma, equivalent, or be actively enrolled in a high school or equivalent program.
  • State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
Essential Functions
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe.
  • Attention and focus: concentrate, pivot quickly, confirm prescription accuracy.
  • Customer service and team orientation: look for ways to help people, respond to patient reactions.
  • Communication skills: verbal and written, active listening.
  • Mathematical reasoning: use math to calculate quantities for prescriptions.
  • Problem resolution: choose best course of action in challenging interactions.
  • Physical demands: mobility, lifting, reaching, typing, visual acuity, lifting up to 20 lbs, etc.
  • Any additional tasks as directed by supervisor or manager.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1‑3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
  • Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations.

The typical pay range for this role is $16.50 – $25.00 per hour.
