We have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified Clinical Psychologist to take up a permanent position as a B8a Clinical Psychologist within the Fylde and Wyre CMHT Psychology team. You would be working directly alongside an experienced and supportive Senior Psychological Therapist, with the opportunity to work with a broad range of clinical presentations. This is a great opportunity to develop therapeutic skills in Internal Family Systems, EMDR, and Compassion Focussed Therapy.

Equally, we would welcome applicants with expertise and experience in other modalities and ways of working to enhance the offer already available.

We are a team that seeks to continually improve how we work and what psychology offers within the CMHT and would welcome the postholder to bring their own ideas for change and innovation. The team is supported clinically and professionally by a Principle Counselling Psychologist and a Consultant Clinical Psychologist who works across Adult Mental Health and Access and Urgent Care services within the Fylde Coast.

The postholder would also have access to a supportive network of psychological professionals across the Fylde Coast. The base would be at Lytham Hospital primarily, although there may be some requirements to travel to other venues across the Fylde Coast as appropriate.

• Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology equivalent for those who trained prior to 1996, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS.

• An increased level of knowledge relevant to this post equivalent to a post
  -graduate diploma (in addition to entry level qualification) Doctoral level knowledge of research methodology, research design and complex, multivariate data analysis as practiced within the clinical fields of psychology
• Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS.
• HCPC registration as practitioner psychologist.

• Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of patients across a range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care and in patient settings.
• Experience of working with a wide variety of patient groups, across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse.
• Demonstrable evidence of a continuing commitment to developing expertise in psychological assessment and intervention

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
